Biographies

Brian Usher |
Brian Usher has been a performer, teacher, arranger, composer and lecturer in the music field for
over 30 years. After graduating Hamilton Teacher’s College, Brian taught in both elementary
and secondary schools. He has been active as a Minister of Music in many large church music
programs. Brian has published many sacred choir and instrumental works over the years and
has written and orchestrated over twenty stage shows and cantatas. He has been active as a
jazz piano player and a studio piano and trumpet player. He has played on many CDs having
recorded in Nashville, Toronto and most recently in his own 24 track digital recording studio in
London Ontario.
Brian has appeared in concert with the Armed Forces Central Command Band and the
Guy Lombardo orchestra. He has written orchestrations for the Royal Canadian Air Farce
comedy team and has accompanied Broadway and Television artists. Brian is one of the
principals involved in development of Conservatory Canada’s new Contemporary Idioms Piano
curriculum and is one of the authors of the Contemporary Guide series. He is also serves as a
Conservatory Canada examiner and clinician. Some of his graded piano arrangements are
currently being published in the new Canadian Composers series. He has also made
appearances on national T.V. broadcasts. Brian is the founder and president of Alpha Music
Services Inc. |

Lois Usher |
Lois Usher teaches the primary piano students and the ‘Alphakids’ program for younger children. Lois has vocal and keyboard experience in performance and studio recording. As well as teaching music in the Alpha School, she has years of teaching experience with the Hamilton Board of Education and the Thames Valley District Board of Education as well as maintaining a private piano teaching schedule. Her teaching specialty is in the area of primary education and she brings that experience and enthusiasm to her primary piano students. |

Kevin Usher |
Kevin Usher is a guitar and bass player/teacher as well as being a highly experienced sound engineer. He is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario and was a guitar student of David Testolin for many years. Kevin has over 18 years experience doing live sound for touring shows as well as location and studio recordings. He is experienced in all styles of music recording from classical choral, strings and brass to contemporary rock groups. He is also an experienced studio musician and can be heard on a variety of recordings. Currently, Kevin teaches guitar for the London Christian Academy and students at Alpha Music Services. |

Barry Usher |
Barry Usher is a versatile woodwind performer and educator. He is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario and has studied with Phillip Murphy, James, Kayln, Robert Carli, Robert Stone and Mike Murley. As an active performer, Barry has been privileged to work with many great musicians and organizations including George Mitchell, Phil Nimmons, Rob McConnell, Duncan Hopkins, David Braid, Josh Groben, Orchestra London Canada, the Stratford Festival, Drayton Entertainment Theatres, and the Grand Theatre, London. As an experienced studio musician, Barry's sound can be heard on a variety of recordings. Currently, Barry teaches saxophone in the music faculty at the University of Western Ontario and students at Alpha Music Services. |
